Congratulations for receiving your DV interview letter? Now do this:

When you receive 2NL, these is what you are to do.

Make sure you have PRINTED your covid certificate and police clearance certificate before you read this message.

Now that you have received your 2NL, you are to do these four key things as soon as you can. Some of them will cost you money so be prepared cash-wise.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR NAIROBI DV INTERVIEWEES
1️⃣ Request your host documents
2️⃣ Book medical appointment,
3️⃣ Register your interview
4️⃣ Verify your KCSE certificate

HOW TO REQUEST HOST DOCUMENTS
US Embassy Nairobi will need you to present three main documents from your host. Those documents are as follows:
✅I-134 (for year 2022) commonly known as Affidavit of Support. That 13 pages form can be downloaded online from USCIS website. The host is to fill, sign, scan and send it to your email or Whatsapp as one document. (You can choose to fill the beneficiary parts and you send it to your host to fill sponsor part.)
✅ IRS transcripts of Form 1040. This is a proof that your host can be able to sustain you based on their tax returns. They should send you IRS (Internal Revenue Service) transcripts for the previous year. If they are yet to file returns for previous year, they can fill and send you Form 1040.
✅ The host should send you their identification either by sending you the bio page of their passport, copy of their greencard, driving license or certificate of naturalization.

HOW TO BOOK MEDICAL INTERVIEW
(Do this within three days from today)
You should soon send an email to IOM to book a medical interview and make sure you include your phone number.
For example:
Email: iomnbomedical@iom.int
Subject: Medical appointment
Write something close to this on the body of that email
Please book me for a medical interview since I have received an appointment date to US Embassy Nairobi. My telephone number is 0722____
Attachments: 2NL, DS260 confirmation page, covid vaccination certificate and scan of your passport bio page for all those who will go for medical.
You will receive an appointment date via email. If you dont get a reply within one week, call them.
IOM is located at Gigiri, Nairobi near US Embassy. Matatu of KACOSE Sacco can take you there from Nairobi. Uber taxi is even better.
Show up on that date with certificate of covid vaccination, 3 copies of biopage of passport(s), DS260 confirmation page and 2NL plus cash of about KSh.46,000 per head in your case number. (Be taking lots of water to cleanse your system.)
If your medical is successful, they will give you a CD and will be ready for interview.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
(Wait for one week from today before you do this)
You should register your appointment because this is the only way you can book DHL center that will bring you back your passport with visa.
This is how you can do it:
Log in to: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ke/iv
Click on register
Select this option: I have received a letter/email to register or schedule a Diversity Lottery visa appointment.
Input your details eg full names, email and phone number and click on create account
Log in to your email and open the email you receive from Yatri that says do not reply. Click on that link to activate.
Proceed with the registration of your interview and select the DHL of your choice. Add all paricipants in your case number.
Print the instruction page then or later.

HOW TO VERIFY YOUR KCSE
(Do this within three days from today)
Have a scan copy of your KCSE certificate.
Log in to this portal: https://qmis.knec.ac.ke/
Create and account as a candidate and then click register. A password will be sent to your email.
Log in to the QMIS account and select confirmation
Input your details on top and select find
On the filling part input all the details required as a candidate and address for the Consular using the P.O. BOX 660 -00621 on your 2NL. Reason is for visa application.
Select the type of attachment as cert/slip, choose file and click attach.
Wait for a day or two to receive a email message with instructions on how to pay.
Once you pay it will take about 10 to 13 days to reach US embassy Nairobi. In fact, KNEC directly take it. So, if you are in Kenya and doing interview in Kenya, you will not need a courier. If your are a Kenyan doing an interview outside Kenya, you will need to contact and pay G4S courier for delivery services. Otherwise KNEC will send via Posta and that might take to long to reach the Embassy.

You should do all this as soon as you can. At Surflink Cyber, we charge a fee of Ksh.1,500/= to do all that but with that information, you can do it yourself. (We also offer passport photos service. We do 2by2 photos at 350/= a set of four per person: 2 photos for IOM and 2 photos for Nairobi Embassy)

I also advice those who are married to consider getting certified copy of marriage certificate. Apply online on ecitizen, then visit sheria house, show them your 2NL and tell them it is needed at US Embassy Nairobi for a quicker service.

If you do these things well and you put your documents in order, once you go to the embassy, they will approve your visas and give you a green paper. About a week later, you will receive your visa and sealed envelope per head in your win. After that, you can pay air ticket, do covid test and relocate to America. I wish you guys all the best.
